Cookie Policy
Last updated: 6 May 2026
This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on healingwithsteph.ie and how you can manage your preferences. It complements our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to site owners. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage.
2. How we use cookies
We use a minimum of cookies on this website. We do not use any advertising or marketing trackers, behavioural profiling, or third-party analytics that follow you across websites.
3. Cookies and storage we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
cookie-consent | localStorage (essential) | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected the cookie banner so we don't show it on every visit. | Until you clear it |
| Google Fonts | Third-party (essential for typography) | Loads website typefaces from Google's CDN. Google receives your IP address as part of this request. We use Next.js font self-hosting to minimise this exposure. | Per request |
| Google Maps | Third-party (loaded only after consent) | Embedded map showing the location of the practice on the contact page. Sets functional cookies (NID, __Secure-*). Loaded only after you click “Accept All” in the cookie banner. | Up to 6 months (Google's defaults) |
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other advertising or tracking cookies.
4. Managing your preferences
When you first visit the website, a cookie banner gives you a clear choice between Accept All and Reject. Both choices have equal visual weight, and we do not use dark patterns.
- Accept All: third-party services like Google Maps will load when needed.
- Reject: Google Maps will not load on the contact page. You can still call, email, or use the contact form.
You can change your choice at any time by clearing the website data in your browser, then refreshing this site to see the banner again.
5. How to manage cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you view, manage, and delete cookies. Here are guides for the major browsers:
